Your lessons will be tailored to your own individual needs, ability and experience. If you are a novice, you will have everything explained to you in a structured approach, starting with the basics and then getting more technical as you approach test standard.

If you have experience, I will ask you about it and then assess your abilty and standard. We can then start your further lessons from that point on.

As part of your driving lessons, question & answer techniques will be used. This will also help you to prepare for the 'hazard perception test'.

The test consists of 14 video clips, each lasting about one minute. The clips feature various types of hazards, such as vehicles, pedestrians and road conditions.
You should respond by pressing the computer mouse button as soon as you see a hazard developing that may result in the driver having to take some action, such as changing speed or direction. The earlier the developing hazard is spotted, and a response made, the higher the score. Candidates can score up to five marks on each hazard and the test contains 15 scoreable hazards. The pass mark for this part of the test is 44 out of 75 for car drivers and motorcycle riders.
The theory test is a very important part of learning to drive. The driving standards agency theory test consists of 50 random questions, of which you must answer 43 correctly to pass, within 57 minutes. To help you prepare for this you can purchase CD-ROMs, DVD, or books from Amazon.
Some short video guides are also here for you to watch on the "Videos" tab at the top of this page.
After passing your driving test it is advisable to take further tuition on Motorways or to take 'Pass Plus'. Both provide invaluable experience in situations that you may not have previously encountered. 'Pass Plus' could also give you a considerable discount on your motor insurance.
Refresher courses are offered to those who may not have driven for some time or may have just lost their confidence.
